The Ilocos Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium (ILARRDEC) is conducting a 2-day training on Farmers Information and Technology  Information System at the Information Technology Center, Mariano Marcos State University, Batac, Ilocos Norte on May 14-15.

The training is conducted to hone existing  capabilities in managing information influx from regional partners. It aims to develop  and demonstrate initial skills of Information Service Specialists  of FITS in operating and managing the center’s information system from  data inputting to information retrieval. It likewise aims to clarify  their distinctive roles in developing and maintaining the system and help them appreciate and recognize  the importance of information system.

Seventeen ISS from  the different centers in the region attended the training. It is expected that the participants will be able to  develop a data base of FITS information and maintain the system for the center’s operation.

The training is sponsored by ILARRDEC and PCARRD (Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development).
