About the FITS Center
History
The Farmers Information Technology Services (FITS) Center is a program of PCARRD through ILARRDEC headed by Consortium Director DR. STANLEY MALAB aimed at enhancing the capability of human resources through with the Local Government Unit and other line foreign institution composed of 17 attached agencies that caters the needs of our constituent. It is the main source of the latest information technology accesible to the majority of farmers, entrepreneurs and other clients. Bauang FITS Center was launched at the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist, Bauang Municipal Hall on March 16, 2007, located along the National High-way, Central Wes, Bauang, La Union. This was under the administation of the former Hon. EULOGIO CLARENCE MARTIN P. DE GUZMAN, Municipal Mayor, now the Vice Governor of La Union. This project was given due support by the leadership of the Honorable Mayor ROBERT P. DE GUZMAN. The ICT equipment given by PCARRD through ILARRDEC. es a sets of computers with accesories, digicam and celphone with due counterpart of LGU such as computers, steel cabinets and other equipments used by our valued farmers, and other clients. The FITs Staff composed of competent extension workers who are ready to render their technical knowhowand expertise related to the needs of the farmers and other clienteles with the fullest support of the Local Chief Executive and the general members of the Local Legislative Body. The FITS Center serve as the one stop service facility accesible to the majority of the farmers, entrepreneurs, and other clienteles to boost productivity and increase their farm family income using the latest and updated technologies through variuos reading materials and flyers for the clenteles and other users. We are deeply committed to proivde the latest information and technologies or agriculture, forestry and natural resources and other related sectors which are imperative to all users through modern ICT equipments and IEC materials to attain maximum profitability , productivity and sustainability, thus contributing to socio-ec onomic development. Vision Bauang FITS Center is a one stop source of information and technology services accesible to majorirty of farmers, researchers, processors, entrepreneurs and other extension workers in modernizing agricultur, forestry and natural resources that is technologically advanced guided by a sound practices for sustainable production, processing, trading ang marketing for economic development.
